Myself and David were walking through Sydney on the way back from a corporate photo shoot. We were keeping a close eye on the sky and hoping for a break in the clouds to that we could perhaps capture an image of the very rare Transit of Venus. As we were walking down Pitt St Mall, we were fortunate enough to catch a break as the clouds parted briefly.
This image is a composite image of two exposures, one frame shows the context of the buildings and clouds while the second exposure clearly shows the shadow of Venus. If you look closely you can also see a couple of sun spots.
Gee the sun was bright! We shot this at aperture 22, ISO 50, 1/8000th of a second. We also used two polarizing filters and a neutral density filter.
